Dr Jeat Lee
MBChB, FRANZCR
Radiation Oncologist
Jeat grew up in Malaysia, and moved to New Zealand for his medical degree, graduating from the University of Otago in 2010. He completed specialty training in radiation oncology in Palmerston North, and received brachytherapy training in Wellington for a year. He was appointed as a consultant in radiation oncology in Palmerston North in 2019, before moving to Tauranga in January 2021 to join the team at the Kathleen Kilgour Centre.
He specialises in the care and management of patients with head and neck, neurological and skin cancers, as well as having special interests in stereotactic ablative radiotherapy (SABR) and intracavitary brachytherapy for gynaecological cancers. He is a member of TROG (Trans Tasman Radiation Oncology Group) and ASTRO (American Society for Radiation Oncology).
Jeat enjoys radiation oncology as it is the perfect mix of technical expertise and humanistic care, and is the epitome of working in a team environment with the patient at the centre of it all. Helping patients through difficult times is also a constant reminder of the harsh realities of life, that we all should appreciate and treasure the people around us.
