Support Services

It is easy to feel lost and  confused when  going through cancer treatment. We are here to provide you with strength and clarity during this time, supply you with all the advice you need, and guide you through each step of the journey ahead.

We have access to a number of support services. Please ask a member of your treatment team if you would like further information about these services.



The Kathleen Kilgour Centre has a close relationship with the Waikato/Bay of Plenty Cancer Society which offers:

  • Information about cancer and cancer treatment
  • Support groups
  • Look Good Feel Better programme
  • Counselling grants
  • Support programmes such as "Living Well" and exercise programmes
  • Therapeutic massage
  • Library
  • Access to Cancer Society liaison nurses who can provide
    • home-based support for family/whanau
    • assessment and support to manage the side effects of treatment
    • a link to other health care professionals and community services
    • advocacy to help resolve any difficulties or anxieties about treatment
