We have access to a number of support services available. Please ask a member of your treatment team if you would like further information about support services.

 

CANCER SOCIETY

The Kathleen Kilgour Centre has a close relationship with the Waikato/Bay of Plenty Cancer Society which offers:

  • Information about cancer and cancer treatment
  • Support groups
  • Counselling grants
  • Support programmes such as "Living Well" and exercise programmes
  • Therapeutic massage
  • Library
  • Access to Cancer Society liaison nurses who can provide
    • home-based support for family/whanau
    • assessment and support to manage the side effects of treatment
    • a link to other health care professionals and community services
    • advocacy to help resolve any difficulties or anxieties about treatment
