Radiation Oncologist
Dr Glenys Round has worked at the Waikato Regional Cancer Centre for over 25 years and is well known in the Bay of Plenty. Glenys holds several qualifications in palliative medicine including a Fellowship of the Chapter of Palliative Medicine from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and a qualification in paediatric palliative care. She also works as a palliative medicine specialist at Waipuna Hospice part-time.
Glenys has extensive experience in the management of breast and gynaecological malignancies. She holds memberships in the Waikato and Lakes Multidisciplinary Breast and Gynaecological teams, ANZ Breast Cancer Trials Group, Waikato Breast Cancer Trust Executive Board and is a member of NZ Breast and Gynaecological Oncology Special Interest Groups. Glenys has an interest in undergraduate training and has facilitated numerous registrar teaching programmes. Her understanding of palliative medicine and the management of breast cancer will be an asset to the Kathleen Kilgour Centre and the people of the Bay of Plenty.
